We had a ruff ride last night and it all started with heat lightning…

I love heat lightning. You can tell that a good storm is coming. It looks so pretty and there is no sound.
I have not been able to enjoy a good storm since, well, decades. I have always had a storm phobic hound, as most of you know.
The heat lightning was my cue to give Chaps his storm pill. It takes about an hours to kick in. So, I had him all tucked in and the TV turned up loud. I could hear him snoring, that was until, the heavens opened up and the bombs started dropping. Why is it always after midnight? So, the Mayor and I were up from midnight until 3:30am.
He looks like I felt today…..
This was taken this morning after his 7:30am breakfast. He went back to bed and I wished I could have!
Actually, in this picture, I thought his ears looked more gray than the day before. Poor boy….

Oh Chaps. Don’t let these storms age you. Sit close to Mommy and fall fast asleep.
I can understand how that is with my crew. Well, Rugs and Harriet anyway. Luckily we haven’t had any big storms in a good while. Well, not good for the tomatoes but good for Rugs and Harriet.

We don’t have issues with storms – thank dog for that. Bumper and Abby sleep through them. I think Bumpers ears are getting more grey all the time. Seems to me that the red and white bassets show their age before the tri colors do. No one believes me that Bumper and Abby are both 8 – they think Bump is much older than her???
I feel for Chaps, Slinky does not like thunderstorms or fireworks.
However I love a good storm. I love to read a really good murder mystery while it’s storming outside.
Chaps looks better than I would after only a few hours of sleep.
AWWW, poor Chaps:((! Harley is the same–he doesn’t get crazy or vocal, just tries to squeeze himself, all 60 pounds of ground round hound, into the nearest corner..he seems to take some comfort there;) Chaps will just catch up on his beauty sleep all day, is all:)
