Breaker, Breaker, 19. Breaker, Breaker 19…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and breaking news lovers…..
Well, yesterday was a whirl wind of e-mails and coordination regarding a very needy senior boy hound in Knoxville, TN. His is another sad story. His name is VooDoo and the only person who ever loved him was a truck driver that was found passed away at a truck stop, apparently of a heart attack.
VooDoo was left at a distant relative’s home, neglected and basically abandoned. The poor thing not only must be grieving the loss of his loved one but then he is neglected and left to his own devises. His nails are so long he can barely walk. The fleas are eating him alive.
Over the course of about 10 hours yesterday a group of us working as a team on facebook found VooDoo a great new Mom that lives in MI. Her name is Corey.
Marilyn at the HOP was the team leader. She worked her senior magic for VooDoo.
Paula, who lives in Knoxville, where VooDoo is languishing, is driving him up to my vet today where he will get a spa treatment and B&B.
I hope everyone is OK with using our 70.00 to get him a bath, a Capstar, clip his nails so he can walk:(, anal gland expression, kennel cough vaccination, and food/lodging for the night. I can’t risk putting him in my BHV and infesting it with fleas.
I will pick him up in the morning and drive him to middle OH where a woman named Kathy will take him to Toledo to meet his forever Mommy.
Poor guy has been through so much. It’s the least we can do for a new life. His truckin’ days are over.
This picture was just sent to me from Paula who is now on the road to my vet.
10-4 Good buddy, 10-4!
Keep checking back for more updates.
More helping the helpless later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Of course it won’t take our entire 70 dollars to get him a spa day and B&B. I will keep everyone posted on his tab.
Cat Woman….
That’s my handle…..
Can’t think of a better use for our $70. Poor boy, now he can have a “fresh” start in life!! Thanks to you and all involed…how lucky he found his forever home so quickly.!!!! I see lots of belly rubs and treats in store for this boy!!!
This is what the Basset Hound Town rescue fund is for. This is a sad story but at least there is a happy ending.
Good luck VooDoo you deserve it.
Snooter kisses from Slinky
Cat – I was just going to echo what Maureen wrote – that’s what the fund is for. Poor guy deserves a new lease on life. Thanks to all for their help.
once again…why i love bassethound town & its residents…
thank you miss cat! safe driving.
you (& we) do good work & karma comes around.
Ditto with what Maureen and Candy are saying! That’s what it’s for. Saving a hound comes in many forms. And this is definitely saving a hound.
Good luck VooDoo! Your a handsome fella and your new family is very lucky.
BE CAREFUL CAT!
Poor VooDoo, good luck fella, you are on your way…….Thank You Cat and everyone on that Facebook team.
Cat – I’ll send a little next week to help replenish the fund. Very cool he’s coming to Michigan!
