Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Old Picture Lovers…

I was looking through my 10 thousand pictures on IPhoto and found this one! It is the home I grew up in. 224 Highland Ave, Ft. Thomas, Ky. I took this photo, I think in the early 1970s.

Get this, I can see the back left hand side of my old childhood home from our current home. I think this is kind of cool!

I commissioned my BFF’s brother, Bill Benton, to water color my childhood home about a decade ago.

Wanna see it? I love it.

I photo shopped him in there! LOL!

I actually had this framed for My Mom and Dad about 5 years ago. I gave it to them for Christmas.

Cat–did you take this photo with your Poloroid Swinger??? That camera was one of my favorite Christmas presents. Anyone remember the Swinger?

Ha, ha, ha, Candy! I don’t remember what camera I had by Dad always had a Nikon. He was so into photography. I love him for that. Even as boy he carried a camera with him everywhere. He was way cool….

The painting is so cool. It must be nice to be able to see a corner of your childhood home from your current one. I still live in the same nieghborhood, but the house is gone. In it’s place is an extended playground for the elementary school. A little stone wall is there along a path that you can sit on. It is a bit landscaped as well, kind of nice how it turned out. Our childhood home went back to the futures children.

What a beautiful photograph, it looks like something Ansel Adams photographed. I love the watercolor, what a beautiful gift. I am not sure I would be comfortable watching another family live in my old house–I can’t explain that.

Have you ever lived anywhere else besides Fort Thomas? I know you have traveled a lot.

Oh, thanks Maureen. I find it comforting to see my old home. I look at it every time I ride by. Sometimes I sit on the front steps with the kids.

I have lived many other places all in this area. This home is by far my most favorite place. I love it. My ultimate goal is to have a beach shack also.

    More about that later….Cat
