Shiny objects;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Shiny Object Lovers (fish included)!
Well, I have been looking for a comfortable winter boot this winter. I have been wearing a pair that are quite frankly, embarrassing. They are so old and beat up with the zippers chewed out by Emma when she was a pup! (She will be 7 next month!)
So, I was online looking around for an affordable boot that I can wear everyday. I am a uniform type of gal. I basically wear the same stuff everyday. I was jealous of the kids in Catholic school that had uniforms. I thought those skirts were cute, but I digress.
I received a few gift cards for Christmas and I had decided on buying boots. I would buy a cute affordable boot. I would be smart and comfortable! I swore to the boot gods that I would never buy Uggs. Toooooooo expensive. Then, I made a critical error. I went online, over to Ugg of Australia, and like a fish swimming towards a shiny object I sat with wide eyes, my mouth shaped in an O……swimming towards the shiny black sparkle Uggs!
Then the horror hit me! Oprah had featured them as one of her “favorite things” on her favorite things show. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Most certainly they would be sold out! Sure nuff! Sold out with no word if they would be back. BUMMER! Instantly I became obsessed. I went to ebay and get this! They were going for 700 dollars. A 170.00 boot going for 700.00 WTHeck?
Then I did a bit a research and found out that the sparkle boots would be back in late January or early February! So, I placed my back order via Ugg and waited and waited like a fish swimming in a bowl. It is crazy howl excited I was checking my front door everyday to see if the fish food had arrived! Well, today they did! YUM!
We were so excited! The kids were very interested!
The Mayor had to smell them! Just then Grandma started going crazy! “Get him away from those boots. His slobber is like glue and it will be impossible to clean slobber in between sequins.”
I guess she has a point, see the slobber on his head?
Well, at least they don’t have zippers!
More loving shiny objects later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. Anyone have any tartar sauce?
These boot remind me of my Dad. I heard him telling me today, “get another pair if you love them so much!” That was so him. He always was big on getting an extra of what you loved. He was so fun.
My sparkle boots remind me of a pair of go go boots he bought me and my sisters. It was the go go era. I was so dang proud of those boots. I remember wearing them in about 5th grade. I entered the lunch room and made sure I clicked, clicked, clicked as I ran all the way down the line. I was so dang proud of those white boots. Funny howl memories will pop up when something new happens. Like a new pair of black boots! LOL!

Shiny Uggs? Wow, I thought they just came in that slug brown color. Those are “you” Miss Cat! Hannah said you were stylin’!
You’re dad was right about getting extras of the things you really like … I have always done that.
Hi OM and Hannah! I agree! These boots are me! I am a bling gal! I love bling! Tell Hannah that I will be stylin’! I hope to wear them when we get together in June. I don’t care howl hot my feet are! hehehe
Oh my! Your feet will melt in June!
I love your new boots! The light will just glitter off of them when you walk!
I am jelous!! They are beautiful!! Do they come in lime green? That’s my favorite color!
Karen they come in silver and also in gold. No lime green, but that would be really cool! I would like to see red as in the ruby red slippers. That might be hard to resist for me. hehehe
Cat
I wore the new sparkle uggs all day today and my feet were on fire. I normally have ice feet! Maybe a bit in between would have been better but I am not complaining! I love my new uggs!
GoGo boots were outlawed at my Catholic grammer school. A student would be sent home if they wore them to school.
As for your new boots, they show that you have style and taste going for you.
As for being jealous of school uniforms UGH! I wore them for years, and I envied anyone student who could wear regular clothes to school.
