Emma did the cutest thing this morning!
Howllo Fellow Hound and Emma Lovers: I had to tell everyone about this because it is such a sweet observation. Emma started doing this after she went blind and it is just adorable.
About twice a week I clean basset ears, as we all probably do. Chaps hates it. I know this so I make a huge deal out of being very soft and gentle, rubbing his ears and cleaning the outside first. He gets lots of kisses on his large lips. Then I have to do the inner part. His ears are very clean so I barely have to go in. Anyway, he always whimpers. As soon as he whimpers, Emma will dash to his side, try to push me out of the way, and then start licking his face. OMG – it is the cutest thing ever.
I always end the session with Emma saving the day!

I had always heard that Bassets were fiercely loyal. I think this demonstrates Emma’s loyalty to Chaps; and when Emma’s away Chaps makes himself sick with worry about her. I wish I knew more people like this.

My Zip and Zap are devoted to each other like that. They are sisters and I purchased them together and brought them home. They are always looking for each other when out of each others line of vision. Bassets have very clear ideas of who they are devoted to! Debbie and the Masterpiece Bassets
Riley always has to come and see what the fuss is all about also. Is it not wonderful how they show such loyality? To bad the 2 legged critters don’t show such affection for on and another. Maybe Chaps and Emma should run for Prez. and Vice Prez. we would all be better off. lola
