Summer of weekend fun!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and weekend lovers! Hi! Did cha miss us? Well, we missed you but we were busy having summer of weekend fun with our boy Julian! I have a few blogs to do about our weekend but let me start by saying that this was the best weekend of Chaps and Emma’s year!
Enter Julian….A quick pat on the pink patty and then we harnessed up!
Off to the Purple People Bridge for a nice summer walk. The weather was holding up for us and in the low 70s! Just bassetabulous indeed!
See the big river boat in the background. This picture is pretty near perfect if you ask me!
Here is another one….
It looks pretty nice, weather wise but actually there was a dark purple shelf cloud moving in our direction. Julian was on the look out and determined that we had to turn around. We were half way over the bridge.
You can’t really tell from this picture, but that church had a very dark sky behind it. It looked beautiful!
So, we turned around, almost in the nick of time!
We were all hot footin’ it to beat the storm. There was NO thunder, thank Dog! It was so funny, Grandma was in front of me rushing Emma along. Her harness was up around her shoulders but she was chugging along. Her rear end was swinging like nobodies business!
I was behind them with Chaps and my hair was blowing like a hay stack in tornado alley! Julian was behind us, basically running backwards giving us a blow by blow of the late afternoon summer sky!
We all got caught in a strong summer shower before we made it to the safety of an outdoor restaurant.
Wow! That was fun! There was a strong odor of wet dog but we didn’t care….
The summer shower passed and we headed home for more fun…..
And more love……
Waiting for Pizza!
More summer of fun later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
What a great time had by all. I have to say Chaps and Emma can’t wait until he comes back again.
I’m so glad yall had a great weekend!!! Was getting worried about you. So cute to see Emma so in love with Julian. Loved the photos too!!! We love wet dog smell….but the only way we seem to get it this summer is by a bath. 😉
Looks like great fun! The shot of the church with that dark sky is very cool.
Julian has gotten a lot taller! I am sure Chaps and Emma had a wonderful time.
Looks like Chaps and Emma had a great time.
Julian looks like a young man now instead of a kid! Growing up fast!
I love it how Julian watched out for Emma and Chaps, he must be their guardian angel.
I too noticed how tall Julian is getting. He is growing up fast.
So glad y’all had a great time! I know Chaps and Emma had a blast!
Ahhh, Emma has a dear friend and pillow 🙂 Looks like you all had a nice weekend…minus the rain.
The kids sure do love their boy!
Hi Cat,
Can you please tell me what kind of harnesses you have for Chaps and Emma? I am having trouble with Daisy slipping out of hers, no matter how snug I seem to make it.
Thanks for any suggestions or websites!
Sincerely,
Janine (basset mom to Daisy and Lilly)
Janine – My Dad bought these harnesses for the kids when we adopted them. He only ever wanted the best! Plus, they all looked quite fetching when walking! These are top of the line and you can trust me they do not slip. He also bought each kid a braided leash to match. Fetching indeed!

We has so much fun and can’t wait for the next visit. This time I will have my video camera at the ready because the sounds that come out of Emma are freaky and fun!
Julian surely is much taller, but also very handsome! Emma sure knows how to pick them!!
