Gardening with Grandma….
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Gardening with Grandma Lovers…….Well, Emma and Chaps fall into that category. Yesterday was a freak nice day. In the past 8 – 10 weeks we have not been able to turn the ACs off. The entire neighborhood and state for that matter hums, hums, hums with the sound of AC motors. Yesterday the town went oddly quite.
This sight was so odd I felt the urge to take a picture. LQQK! The fans are still. The silence spread across my face with a huge smile.
I actually saw 2 woman walking dogs with light jackets on. They were laughing and the dogs tails were high and proud.
Wow, we all emerged from the oven yesterday.
Grandma was even able to do a bit of gardening. Emma followed her outside and I gave Grandma my camera. “Take some pictures, lots of them”, I said……
This is Emma in her comfort corner. She has a comfort corner on her bed and outside. She just loves this spot.
Then the girls came back up to my back porch to show off the harvest for the day!
Our bounty has consisted of 3 tomatoes all summer long. None of which we have eaten yet.
Today is another magic silent day without ACs humming along. I think we need to load up in the basset hauling vehicle and do some exploring….
Maybe it’s time to eat the tomato? Oh, that sounds good…..

Doesn’t Emma ever get sunburn? I worry about her and especially her patty.
Those tomatoes look wonderful even if there are only three, huge, smooth and juicy. My Dad loved Beefstake tomatoes.
I can’t even imagine not having to use my AC in the middle of August. Totally unheard of here in south Texas. We’ve had triple digits for 12 days straight. It’s miserable. I can’t wait for fall! As I type, Jethro is laying on the floor, under the AC vent, belly up, with his legs up in the air.
Beautiful tomato for sure! I wonder why your crop isn’t as big? You think it’s too much rain and stormy weather?
Hello,
Emma is a beauty. I also have a basset (of course) and a tweeny dachshund. Albert said to post Emma’s picture on my Tumblr blog so everyone can see her. So I am going to do just that. I hope you don’t mind, but if you do, please let me know.
Thanks,
Susan, Albert and Frodo
Oh, yes! Please post Emma on your Tumbler account. That is very cool! Thank you guys…..
I can never see enough pictures of our Emmers. What a Barroooootiful girl.
