Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and having hounds home lovers…YES!

Well, we picked up the kids about 2 hours ago.  Our vet, Dr. Doan walked outside with us and took a picture of the kids loading into the BHV, (basset hauling vehicle), for his facebook page.

The kids were never so glad in all of their live long days to get out of there!

Grandma and I got them home and Emma made it into the comfort corner and is still there.  Chaps barely made it into the bed and is now slightly crying.  I think that cyst removal hurts.  I gave him half a pain pill.

This is what I will be doing the rest of the night.  My seat is on the couch right next to the bed.

Maybe a little dancing with the stars.

More chart notes from the unregistered nurse later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma

So glad they are home and snuggly. Poor Mayor (and poor Cat) having to endure thunderstorms the night before! Nell has had all kinds of lumps removed and is sending special sussex drool the Mayor’s way.

OM – Chaps got up about an hour ago and was really crying and pacing. I looked at a picture of my Dad and begged him to take the pain away and Chaps laid down and went to sleep within seconds. Maybe it was the pain pill but I think it was both! Thanks Grandpa!

i picture him sitting next to the mayor with his hand on him just calmly soothing him soaking up the pain.

Well, Burger boy was up most of the night in pain. The vet said that he didn’t need stronger pain meds but I don’t know what he was thinking. How would you feel if you were sliced open on your back? Well, not good! So, I am off to pick up his medication right now then I will rush home to give it to himz. Emma did great but poor girl couldn’t bark correctly this morning for her meal due to the intubation. Herz was horse. Broke my heart. Burger wouldn’t eat. Both are resting right now and Grandma will come down and sit with them while I dash off to the vet.

    More later…….Nurse Mommy

OH! This is terrible, so special treats or french fries are definitely needed.

Poor babies. I’ve found that the older they get the longer it takes to bounce back. I’m sending healing thoughts to both Chaps and Emma, hoping they’ll be back to their normal happy selves very soon. You too Cat, you also need some rest….you’ve got some busy times ahead!!

I know what your talking about with Chaps. Jethro didn’t pace but he sure cried. He laid on the living room pallet in front of me and would cry off and on. I’d lay down next to him and give him kisses and hugs which helped some. He did that for the first day or two then he was ok. I did bring home some pain meds for after surgery so that helped a lot. Yeah, being sliced no matter where it is, isn’t fun. We’re all hoping that the mayor is feeling better tonite.
