Chaps, the Mayor turns into TEACHER’S PET!

September 19th, 2008 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and teacher’s pet lovers! No truer words have ever been spoken. Not only do the children love our Chaps, the teachers are in awe of him. He was such a good boy. He sat and let 60 kids pet him today. They all waited their turn patiently!

First off, I gave a dog safety lecture and then I read the Lily book. Then each kid lined up to pet our boy.

Here we are starting off the petting process! NEXT………

Chaps was sure he smelled lunch on this little pretty girl.

This little boy really followed instructions. Look how he is offering the back of his hand to Chaps for a good smell! Good Boys!

This was so funny, Chaps tried to lift up this little girl’s shirt! She was having none of it!

The whole day was packed with fun images like this. Chaps was the perfect gentleman. He marched in, sat my by side, and then slept through the reading. When the kids lined up, he sat up and participated. He truely is an angel and a great ambassetor!

The KIDS loved him.

More good relations later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. he did sling a drool, but prior to entering the reading area. Whew!

P.P.S. that wierd collar he has on is a special light up collar, but it did not work inside. OH WELL!

Chaps – what a good boy you are. He knows that a good Mayor has to be patient and attentive to his citizenship.

And Cat – you rock. You and Chaps give those kids a life lesson which, hopefully, will give them insight into treating all creatures with respect!!!

Good Going to you both. Have a great weekend and get some rest. Lord knows, you both (and Emma) have had a trying week. (I’ll try not to point out that it all started with Mommy decided the kids needed a bath. Just goes to show, no good comes of force bathing!!!) 🙂

Cat , I just love the way you go into Schools and let the Children know how to treat a Dog , Those
children will remember that for the rest of their life. The Mayor showed them how well behaved a Basset can be. You guys Rock. ken

It is so much fun and the Mayor loves it. I really wish Emma could go. She is just so hyper. I sure hope the kids remember us. That would be cool!

Candy, that is toooo funny. We are so exhausted. Emma’s eye does not look any better, as a matter of fact it looks worse. I am just so upset with this damn prosthetic. She has been through so much. Her breeder just ignores us. Her and husband are off having fun and selling more puppies.

I think you and Mayor Chaps are doing something so special. This is such a treat for everyone involved, and even those of us who just spectate.
