Acupuncture treatments for dogs;) – Chaps is benefiting!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Chaps Acupuncture Treatment Update Lovers…
The reason I named this blog posting so generic is for Google. I have been getting a fair amount of visitors reading these posts and then e-mailing me with additional questions so I wanted to make it somewhat easier to google the topic and find information.
We arrived at Dr. Leicks office armed with our list of questions and of course the Mayor. After discussing Chaps various problems Dr. Leick decided to concentrate on his hip dyspepsia with his chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. Dr. Leick seemed to think that the jolting episodes were a combination of things. It could be shooting pain in his hips and fear from the shooting pain. Dr. Leick added a few needles to the fear points.
Chaps did great.
We left and took this picture pledging solidarity with New Orleans and wishing them dog speed for the fear they must be feeling.
We wore our Tulane T-Shirts to support our darling Henry. Henry is my nephew and of course Grandma’s grandson. We texted him him from the parking lot and he responded with “everything is cool, sheltering in place with my new class mates.” This is his view from his 11th floor freshman dorm room.
Welcome to New Orleans Henry!
The Mayor decided to shelter in place at home. He is doing great and resting really good. So far only one jolting episode which is less than last night.
More watching the weather channel and no jolting later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
Glad to hear the Mayor is doing well. Dr.Leick’s sounds like quite a find. Here’s hoping everyone remains safe and calm.
I had to share…This morning we went for our morning walk. I drive us to the park and then we put the Mayor out on flat ground. He does much, much better when he has no hills or steps. Anyway, I thought it was so cute. He was bound and determined to make his way to the dog park and smell what the hell was going on down there. When he had Emma to worry about he had no desire to venture towards the park. Well, hell bent he made it to the park in record time huffing and puffing. Grandma took off in the other direction for a power walk. Chaps actually was pretty nice but did growl at a 12 week old healer pup. OMDawg so cute. That pup had the nerve to smell his rear end area and the Mayor was not amused. It was not bad and he seemed willing to let the pup smell around his side area. It was so cute. Then we waited for the ramped up jack russell to make his way out. The dog was not fixed so I immediately assume not a great dog owner so I limited the Mayor around this shady dog owner. It was getting hot so we were going to head back to the car which was too far for the Mayor to walk to. We headed out and Chaps started going down hill from the heat. I knew it was too far but not a problem. I power walked up the Basset Hauling Vehicle like there was a house on fire. Grandma was stationed under a huge shade tree and Chaps’ tongue was hanging to the ground. I pumped up the AC and with my flashers on I zoomed over hill and dale to get our boy cooled down. Of course I am making this seem more dramatic than it was but I was cracking up. We loaded up the Mayor and poured him a big cool bowl of water. Maybe I can get a few pictures of the dog park tomorrow for your viewing pleasure. hehehe
All in all we got those hips moving and some exercise.
More later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
I am so glad that he is doing so much better and that you got him cooled down after his big day at the dog park. Bumper hates it when a dog smells his butt so I totally understand him not liking that. I see more walks in the park for you guys as the weather cools down!!
I think this is a sign that the Mayor is mellowing a bit with age.
