Hollee, an Alabama rescue story!

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: I am sure most of you know that if you adopt a basset from a reputable rescue, that hound is covered for life. Rescues like Alabama take every effort to place a hound in a forever home, but sometimes it does not work out. A fantastic rescue like this will always reclaim their own. Also this is the case for reputable AKC breeders as well.

Hollee had been adopted a few years ago but after the adopter developed health problems, Hollee needed to come back into rescue. Before she could get back she was attacked by either wild dogs or a coyote. The adopter took Hollee to her vet and she stayed there a week and then was sent up to bhra and their main rescue vet, Dr. Ellison at Calera Animal Hospital in Calera, Alabama. They gave her IV fluids to get her kidneys back running again and worked on her to get her healthy again. This took about 3.5 months to get all done and healthy but Hollee is now a very happy girl with a zest for life.
To generate funds for Hollee’s vet bills, members of a private basset forum online (Roxies) auctioned off various basset things and Christmas items within the group and over 1500 dollars was raised and sent to our treasurer to pay Hollee’s vet bills. They are a special group of people!

Special indeed. This is a story of one girl named Hollee. Loved by Robbie and Everett of Basset Hound Rescue of Alabama.

It just goes to show ya, there is no amount of money, that one won’t pay for love. Check back, because I am waiting for a picture of Hollee! Hound of our hearts!
