January 15th, 2013 - 10:10 pm KY Time
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and viable applicant lovers…
I will be meeting and interviewing this applicant tomorrow. If this applicant proves to be ballot worthy we will be having an election for a new Mayor very soon.
Stay tuned for more blogging updates tomorrow!
More loving elections later…Cat (Chaps and Emma ATB) ready to cast their ballots if necessary.
Our fingers, dewclaws and hearts are crossed…
Awaiting joyous news! Hoping that Love once again proves to be our our most greatest and most precious renewable resource… xoxo
Oh my dog!! I was hoping for this news soon! Our paws are all crossed! Good luck – you have so much love to give.
Are u getting a new basset or interviewing a hound who lives thereZ? The suspense will be awful so let us know as soon as you know please.
Such great news for a cold Wednesday morning! We will be anxiously awaiting!
REALLY?!!! I am ecstatic! Oh boy, oh boy!!! All 16 paws are crossed here. I sure didn’t realize this was going to come this soon but I am soooo very glad it’s a possibility. I will be checking often for today’s blog.
WE WISH YOU MUCH LUCK!
Woo! Pictures!!!
The Mayor will be a tough act to follow. It will be hard to fill such paws; but, Basset Hound residents welcome new and fresh ideas, and we think Nosey down the street should be on the Mayor’s staff (by the way, could you send me Nosey’s email, I would like to get his address).
The welcome mat is out and the voters are ready.
Slinky is soooo anxious about the election.
All paws and toebones are crossed!!! Cat, you have SO much to love to give–bless Chaps and Emma for looking after you…!

From “The Last Will and Testament of an Extremely Distinguished Dog”, written by Eugene O’Neill, copyright 1956…..
…”One last request I earnestly make. I have heard my Mistress say, ‘When Blemie dies we must never have another dog. I love him so much I could never love another one.’ Now I would ask her for love of me, to have another. It would be a poor tribute to my memory never to have a dog again. What I would like to feel is that, having once had me in the family, now she cannot live without a dog! I have never had a narrow jealous spirit. I have always held that most dogs are good….some dogs, of course, are better than others.”
Arooooooooooooooooooooooooo!:)

What a beautiful sentiment. I know when Slinky’s time comes it will be very very difficult for me, but I will keep this thought in mind to help me heal.
