I will start…Maybe I should continue trying to train Daisy Lynn to stay off the furniture..
All of the residents know she has so many beds. I am trying to keep her off the furniture because I worry about her long back.

Oh, Cat! I can just imagine the book that Daisy Lynn will write when she is all grown up. “Basset Mommy Dearest.” You are the meanest Mother of all time! Why can’t you install a pulley system throughout the house that can lift the Dolly-Llama-Mayorette onto whatever item of furniture she likes?

That is one determined little pup – incredibly uncomfortable I would think, but determined.
I would think as she gets older and heavier, some of this climbing will cease (wishful thinking?).
No file cabinets, no dining room tables, no kitchen counters, but no couches? No basset hound on the couch … that’s just too sad. Poor Mayor. 😉
I can’t believe she is still up there even with the furniture. She is soooooo determine, but ohhhhhh sooooooo cute!!!!!!
She just wants to be comfy but I agree with their long backs it is dangerous for them to jump up and down. She is really persistent though!! Love that puppy!!
Maybe you could just cut the legs off of all your furniture to make it eaiser for the Mayor.
Yep, now is when you need to train her. Right from the beginning. You are right about not wanting her to jump. Just keep telling her to get down. She’ll eventually get the hint.
We’re just doing some chores and resting this weekend. Jethro’s appetite is messed up since his minor surgery Weds night and has me concerned. Hopefully he’ll eat tonite. If not, I’ll probably take him back to the vet on Monday and make sure he’s ok.
Just to keep the residents updated, Jethro ate last night. PHEW!
Jethro is a handsome hound indeed! That’s a beautiful picture of him. Cindy was it Jethro that opened a bag of dog food and was sitting on top of it to keep the other Doyle hounds away?

Mayor Daisy persistence and determination are admiral qualities, but no one wants you to get hurt, please remember that.
The picture post looks great Cat! Thanks for all the compliments on Jethro. He’s aging gracefully as far as his looks. But the bassetude is getting worse.
And yes Kerry! Jethro was the one that got in the closet where I store the dog food. He chewed through the bag and ate until he almost popped then sat next to the bag all day and wouldn’t let any other hounds get near it. I got lucky that he didn’t bloat over that incident. I didn’t feed him that day and the next 2 days he only got 1/2 of his normal serving. Oh Jethro. Life would not be the same without him.
