Can all the town send some good surgery vibes to long time resident Bumper Alessandro?
UPDATE….BUMPER IS HOME AND RESTING COMFORTABLY….
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Bumper Alessandro Lovers…Right now our very own Bumper is undergoing surgery to remove a very large mass from this right shoulder. It was so iffy if he should undergo surgery at his age of 11 years but the mass continued to enlarge and now it has become necessary.
Here is Bumper this past weekend after his bath. His Mommy Judy wants him clean for his procedure.
Here is the last picture ever of the stupid mass. Why our beloved hounds must suffer from these lumps and bumps I just cannot understand.
So let’s all gather round and send some very good vibes to our big boy. Himz needs us now!
Judy with Bumper’s sister, Abby at the park!
More keeping every one updated on Bumper and his Mommy…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB hating masses and lumps later…)
We here at the Doyle household send good vibes and massive amounts of good luck drool. Please keep us updated.
Slinging lots of drool to Bumper. Please email me Bumper’s address, Slinky would like to send him a get well treat.

Howllo Town Residents. Bumper is out of surgery and still sleeping. The mass is off of him and Judy is checking in with me again at 2pm. Our good vibes are working so keep them up!
Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert – and her Mom
Thanks for the pupdate Daisy Lynn. We have our paws crossed that everything continues going well.
Bumper got home about 3:30 and is resting now. He is free of the softball size mass and has a 12 inch scar on his shoulder/chest. The vet said it was a “bitch” to get out but it was contained and he feels that he got all of it. We are so thrilled that Bumper is home and Abby is so relieved too. We took Abby out for lunch in the park today because she was so upset!! Thank you so much for all the good thoughts sent our way today. It means so much to us to know that so many people care. Hopefully he will have a smooth recovery. Hugs to all.
Bumper is home and resting comfortably. I will add a picture to the post…
Get lots of rest Bumper here at Bassethoundtown we are all cheering you on.
Rest well and feel better soon Bumper. You are one of the elder statesman of BHT and we love getting to know you, even from afar. Pyrenees and Basset drool coming your way.
12 inches? Oh my! Poor Bumps. Well, the worst part is over now. All he needs is lots of love and healing drool. We will continue to send all the drool we produce. Take care of that big pretty boy.
Tater Tot, Cookie and I send our prayers and good thoughts for a quick recovery for Bumper. Our Ruby suffered from these type tumors, so we understand the need for surgery.
I have Bumper in my many prayers to St. Francis, and the Boys are sending mega healing drool for him. He is precious…Hugs to Abby, too!

Love to Bumper hope you feel better soon.
Lots of bas hugs.
Thank you everyone for caring about my baby boy Bumper. He had a very restful night, went potty at 5am and at 8am he ate his breakfast and took his two pills. He is still very tired and sleeps a lot but he is home with us and we are all so thankful. Abby is confused but happy to have him back too.
Poor Bumper, glad to hear he’s on the mend. Extra treats, belly rubs and cuddles are necessary for his recovery.
Thanks for the update Judy. I was in here looking for that. Rest is good. I know my elders rest for at least 2 days after anesthesia. It’s more tiring when they are older but he’ll be just fine in no time. Keep us posted!
Today Bumper is getting up a little more but he is still quite weak. It is a lot for him to go outside and to do the steps. He did lose a lot of blood during the surgery so he needs to build his strength up again. He does get up and go to get a drink, move from room to room and he is not missing any meals or treats. Today he got excited and spent some time up when the grandkids came over. Most of the time he is still napping. I am just glad he is here.
Oh, thanks for the udpates Judy – I was going to e-mail you today but totally forgot. I have been thinking about our big guy…..
I too was wondering how our sweet Bumper was doing. Thanks for the update. We will continue to pray and send hugs and drool your way.
