A day in the life of a popcorn smelling puppy!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Popcorn smelling lovers…
I have heard it for decades about basset lovers reporting that their hounds smell like popcorn after they wake up. I personally have never had the popcorn smelling basset and frankly I thought it was an over blown report.
Until today! Guess what? Daisy Lynn can sure pop some corn!
The day started out normally enough….
First, lounging under the chaise.
Then coming in to cool off in the living room…
Then moving slowly to the bed all sleepy eyed. Look at those cute neck bags!
Then it happened…
That tight curl can really pop some corn! I could but some butter on that ear!
Have any of you ever smelled it on your hound?

Oh, yes, Cat!! I call my boys “Popcorn Toes” all the time–their feet smell of popcorn (to my nose;)! Some call it “Frito feet”. I have never had their ears exude popcornosity, though! I call their neck bags “throat cleavage”, lol! Daisy is so lovely!!:) Hugs and smoochies to her from

I have never noticed a popcorn aroma on Slinky, but I will check it out. Slinky does have Frito paws, I have noticed that numerous times.
Mary and Maureen – When Daisy Lynn curls up in a ball and all of that heat builds up in her patty area is when I smell it. She will uncurl and move and the air smell like someone is microwaving popcorn. It is so strong. Well, I am a huge fan of buttered popcorn so I enjoy it. There is some butter in the smell as well. I always thought that would be a cute name for a hound. Butter…
Yes! Nosey’s paws always smell a bit like popcorn!!!!!! Aren’t our girls just adorable?????

P.S. Aren’t the throat bags called a dewlap? Something like that???? Or, am I dreaming that?
