May I introduce…(hear trumpets sounding) BJ Longears – The Princess of the Senior Center and in charge of Decorating.

I am a BaRNI hound who originated in a San Diego shelter, being listed as 10 years old and having a mammary tumor that everyone thought would take my life, the local rescue group could not help me. Thankfully the great basset slaves at Barni were called and I arrived at Daphneyland thru a transport of many animal lovers.

With many thanks to my special sponsors: Aunt Kim & Uncle Keith and Aunt Kay H, I went to see the vet man and had surgery. The great news is that they were able to remove my tumor and it was benign!!
I have long awaited the ability to decorate the senior rooms and I am soooo happy to be heading up this committee.

Plush foofy beds – maybe like those the Sheraton Universal has for its special canines… some leather couches for the seniors… a Day Spa – complete with designer shampoos and conditioners for my luxurious long ears and silky coat. Doggie breath mints on every pillow at bedtime…..
FLOWERS. A girl needs flowers to sniff and Lavender is my flower of choice…..

A copy of Lily in each bed chamber for bedtime stories to the seniors…….. a really nice sound system that will play our Aunt Gigi’s songs throughout the Senior Center.. I love falling asleep to Gigi’s songs….

Hi, my name is Wilson and I am a Sr. Hound that has all of the stuff you are dreaming of. I am very lucky and I know it. My Dad, will vote for your dream and we both feel it in our old bones that it will come true! Every hound deserves a comfortable place to rest. I know my old bones appreciate it. From one old guy to many others in need, Wilson

Hi elders and those helping the elders! I cannot wait to see the show! Wow, can everyone believe this? Bassets on TV? I am honored to vote for your retirement home. It sounds like the best dream come true ever. Drooling with Max and Shep in New Mexico
