Howllo Fellow Basset and walking Hounds lovers…Yesterday was the perfect day for a pack of hounds to bound through a beautiful park setting.  We had so much fun.  Unfortunately, the Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert had to stay home and nurse a sick paw with her Grandma.

Daisy Lynn has chronic interdigital cysts which means she gets what we call “meanies” between her toes.

This was the worst case yet.  I will blog about our efforts to solve this problem soon but for now she is doing better and on her 5th day of antibiotics.

Now…It’s off to the walk!!!  LOTS AND LOTS OF PICTURES FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE!!!

I always get to the park about 2 hours early so I can set the place up.

 

Believe it or not a hound beat me their!  LOL – She was so cute and guess what?  Her name is Daisy!  This is not her Mom.  This pic was taken later and this Daisy was such a lover.  She came to me this same way and just put her paws around my neck and hugged me.  I love her…

The pack of hounds started arriving.  I counted 26 total!

This pack drove in from IN – about an hour and 1/2 away.  That is the Grand Dame Annie in front.  Misty the lace ear was recently rescued and you can see Daisy again!

The place is beginning to fill up!

Here comes Jackson!

From left to right…Maybelle, Bruser (the english bull dog), Roscoe, Hank, Sam the dog, and Daisy from IN.  FYI there were 2 Daisies from IN!  Wow!

Annie Alessandro came early and had the absolute time of her life!

We actually take up the entire shelter.  I put about 5 big bowls a water around because after eating wieners on a silver platter one gets a bit thirsty!

Dexter Wayne, AKA my boyfriend watches on as Molly, Maybelle, Cookie and Tater get some more wieners!  A pack favorite!

This could very well be a money shot! Tater, Cookie, Maybelle, Molly, Rosebud and Ellie Mae in the hound stroller!  OMD!  I want one of those.

Lets get a better look at this setup!  Wow!  It even has a cooling fan on the roof.

Then we all head down to the dog park on our leisurely stroll…

Another embarrassing moment…Who is this hound??? Love the chalk art that Judy’s granddaughter did!

Dogged determination to get to the best smell!  It’s neck and neck as Cookie pulls forward over Doodle and Tater!

Annie walks about a mile every day and can put some of us to shame.  She is an elder lady as well!

This is Misty to the right a very petite sweet lace ear!!! Sam the Dog is to the left with himz Mommy Marsie!

Such fun and you could really tell that the bassets were so happy.  They are pack hounds and really enjoy all the smells!  You can almost see them smiling:)

We got to the dog park and rested under a nice shade tree…I believe this is Daisy again with her Dad…

OMGoodness sakes alive!  Look at me in all of my glory!!!  I am in hound heaven and loving every second of it!

This is me and my boyfriend, Dexter Wayne.  Just look at his face.  His eyes are simply amazing.  I love himz…

Then we headed back to our beloved shelter #2 and had some fun gift giveaways!

As you can see, one of the youngest Miss Ellie Mae was tongue out dog tired!

I think some bassethoundtown walking club hounds slept good last night!
