Road Trip, Road Trip, Road Trip!
Howllo Fellow Hound and Road Trip Lovers! Our Homer is on the road and everything went without a hitch. Here is Jim, the man who is driving Homer!
Jim is a saint, pure and simple. I just cannot believe that I was fortunate to make acquaintances with this wonderful man. He does not ask for one cent of money for himself. He only asks that his rental car is paid for and that his expenses are covered. He actually got this car for 38.00 dollars for the day. He is going to make the round trip to NY and back in 18 hours. He is amazing. This is him meeting Homer. You have to click on the picture to see Homer’s eyes meeting Jim’s. Dogs are all that’s right in the world for Jim.
Look at Homer’s tail go.
Jim and his wife are in Olde English Sheep Dog rescue.
This is Jim doing one final potty break before the big send off.
We had a jack pot! That’s what my Mom calls it when both duties are completed! LOL
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Look at our Homer! He was so excited to get going that he tried to jump in the front seat!
Jim had a big blankee for Homer in the back seat!
How about that pretty orange harness? Guess what? That was my Lily’s first harness after I rescued her. Joni is going to send it back to me because I keep it with all of her stuff that I look at every day.
Jim get’s Homer a chew toy!
Oh that tastes soooooooooooooo good and it will keep me busy as well!
Hey, is that the Lily book? Maybe Homer can read it to Jim as he drives! LOL
He is really in a hurry, Jim is on a tight schedule and wants to be home tonight to be with his sheep dog kids!
Bye, bye Homer and Jim – Bless both of your souls. Have a safe trip. I will talk to you tomorrow and get your expenses.
look close – you can see Jim waving good bye and Homer in the back. This just warms my soul. I was crying at this point. Just balling.
There they go. Heading north. What a journey it has been over the last 11 days. A Holiday journey I will never forget. I bet Homer won’t either. This is what the season is all about. We all came together, in our town, and helped a down on his luck old KY hound find a forever home. Magic, just magic!
You now have the green light to a great life Homer. We are all thrilled to help you on your way. Thank you for making my holiday season the most memorable ever!
Many more Homer stories later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
That was so sweet!!
Good luck old boy! Have a safe trip and enjoy your new life!!!
Hugs!

O,K. I’m just balling now — this brings back way to many memories of Abby’s story, only at least you know Homer is going to a good home! I know it was sooooo hard for you to watch Homer go, and then the (Lily Harness), Oh, that made me cry some more! Please keep us posted on his trip and his new life with his new Mommy. Thank you Jim for being the flight angel. AND,Cat — well Christmas presents don’t get any better than this, do they? Love YOU! and my thoughts are with you today!
OMG – I am crying, too. You can tell that Homer knew he was in good hands with Jim by the look of that first meeting. Thank you, Cat, Jim and Joni for helping this handsome guy. You are all saints. Cat, it is probably a good thing that Chaps is a jealous fellow – otherwise, you’d probably be living with 40 hound dogs – wait – doesn’t that sound like heaven? LOL
Can’t wait for more updates.
Candy

OMG Cat! This made me cry…thank you so much! Is it possible to get Jim (and his wifes) address so I can send him a thank you card! There arent many people like that around…..Thank you Cat for everything that you did to save this dear basset boy and help him find his loving furever home. You are soooooo loved!
Isn’t this great?!! I just can’t wait for Jim and Homer to get here. The potroast is cooking and the pekes are resting cuz we’re gonna have a pawty tonite. Frosty Paws are in the freezer at the ready. Without Cat and all of you wonderfulpeople on her Blog, I’m afraid Homer’s story would be quite different. I am actually thankful his family dumped him off cuz now he’s gonna know true love and good food. I love y’all.
I’m crying too! Homer is such a gorgeous hound! I am so glad that he found you & Joni, Cat. And Jim!
Best of all, we’ll get to keep up with his adventures.
