Grandma has duties and the kids love it!

Howllo Fellow Hound and duty calls lovers! LOL….

Recently I told my dear readers about how Grandma comes down everyday about 3:00 to give the kids their treats and visit. Here is a better picture of her in the kitchen chopping raw potatoes. Poor Emma, for the most part she only gets raw potatoes as treats due to her severe allergies. I shouldn’t say poor Emma because she really loves them. Anyway, here is the cute picture!

Check out Emma throwing her head back and howling at Grandma to chop faster. I love her attitude. She talks to Grandma the entire time and Grandma can understand every word.

Then after the treat session Grandma will come back to my office with the kids and inspect Emma’s allergy areas. These are very serious sessions that require absolute attention. We call her belly area the Patty because we are always patting it! OK – I know, we are totally strange but maybe in some way fasinating. OK again, probably only to the kids! LOL

Believe it or not this is a good day for Emma.

Her patty can sometimes be blood red, AKA, a rare patty!

Our friend Sandy sent some holistic remedies which we are anxious to try. Thank you Sandy.

Well, I better go. Emma is belly up and I have to attend to her Patty. I am also known as the leader of the Patty Posse!

OK – you can cyber slap me now! LOL

More Patty news later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma

no cyber slapping here…..we would all have to be slapped. I do patty checking all the time too. Only we call -Colby’s underside the ‘lint catcher’…..he has this little area on his stomach where the hairs come together and catch everything….(Lint, grass, leaves) It’s always interesting to see what he is caring around down under there. So he loves to be belly up and checked. We still can’t touch Abby’s underside ever since she went through that ‘false pregnancy’ and got mastitis she doesn’t allow anyone to touch her there.

Good Morning. I was watching the news this morning…..is everyone O.K. in Basset Hound Town? Is the storm hitting you hard? Do you have electricity? Keep us posted, and stay warm.

Slinky just gets belly rubs, some of the children called her belly/tummy a belly muff because she was always so warm, but that sounded really strange to me. A friend of mine calls her lab’s belly “Apple Pan Dowdy”, I don’t know where she got that name or idea from. It’s a real mouthful and sounds very strange.

I think Emma’s pose in this picture is absolutely perfect. Emma is sitting still so she can be properly indulged and appreciated.

Harley has what I call his “cow belly” because it’s oh so smooth and spotted like a cow’s! And Biggs’ bellybutton catches lint–just like his dad’s;) There was a thread recently on the DD regarding basset bellybuttons (try saying that 10 times quickly!) catching lint…

Hey, just checking in. Tons of snow up here, but we have power. Heard southern Indiana and parts of KY not doing so well weather and power wise. Hope you’re all okay.

O.K. I’m getting worried now! Is everyone O.K.? Do you have power yet? We are thinking about you all.

OMG! I am rolling on the floor laughing at all of these comments. They are the best! Oh how we love the belly of a basset! What is the cutest is when they kick their back legs and flap the front paws. OMG I just melt.

We did survive and hopefully we are back to normal. I have to try and chip away 4 inches of ice off the side walks and car. Where is that darn kid when you need him? The one who came by the first day.

Thank you SK for such as sweet comment.

Feeling the love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
