Where will He Go?

1563

The old Hound laid in the warm day’s sun

Dreaming of belly rubs, treats, and rabbits

He has run.

He once was young, with a family of his own

Two leggers to play with and a favorite bone

There were rides to the store, trips to the park

Grandma’s and more.

Now the muzzle is gray and the Kids are all grown

His master’s been placed in an old age home.

So where will he live? Where will He go?

The years have flown by and now he is old.

But Devon has a dream of a wonderful place

Where the old hounds can live out the rest of their years

With loving care and nothing to fear

Lots of hugs and a gentle touch

Doesn’t seem like asking too much.

Now this is a dream that can come true

It all depends on me and you

Just a few dollars a week

So little to give, for a beautiful

Place for an old Hound to live.
