Chaps is getting ready for his “Man”icure
Howllo fellow Basset Hound and celebrity lovers! Well, our boy has an appointment on Thursday for his “Man”icure. A boy has to look well groomed to go for a professional photo shoot. We are taking Miss Emma as well. They like to console each other and she needs her nails trimmed as well.
Today, my Mom and I groomed the big guy. Our definition of grooming is different than most. We cannot give Chaps’s a bath because that would send him into a funk. We don’t want that for the love of Dog!
I tried out my new furmanator today and it worked great! I made sure I did not go too deep, just an upper level smoothing. His coat looks fantastic. It will be so shiny for the shoot!
I got a huge amount of winter hair out of him!
It’s a wirlwind I tell you, a real wirlwind!
Chaps got a phone call today from the Yellow Pages asking for his permission to use his name, (and mine) for a regional press release!!!!!
This is so much fun. I cannot wait to promote HOUSE OF PUDDLES!

He is so photogenic, he is going to do great!! So, Cat ~ when the new phone book comes out are you going to run from porch to porch in the middle of the night and steal a bunch? You know ~ for Chaps’s fans!!! 😀

What is a furminator?
I don’t envy anyone the task of nail trimming. Slinky squirms, yelps, whines and cries when I do them or the groomer does them. Sometimes she squirms so much we can only get one paw done.
Also, I think it was a mistake to groom Chaps for his photo shoot. I think everyone will want to see Chaps in his rugged handsomeness.
cooper…mr i can kill 5 groundhogs in the dog park…has to be put under to get his nails cut…wussie boy! thankfully his coat is easy to groom…i think its the mix of setter coat and the fact that is the vainest dog i have ever known!
buster will cry like you are killing him while doing his nails but let you do them. i use a zoom groom on him and bukets for fur comes off…he likes it and doesn’t tolerate a mars coat king (like a furminator) so thats what i use.
i think a t shirt with the front of the phone book would be a cool thing….

Do you have any Basset Hound Town T-shirts? I think Emma and Chaps in your beautiful flower garden would make a fabulous t-shirt. It’s gotta say “Basset Hound Town” on it too! Man, this may have opened up a whole other can of worms!
