A tip of the brush, David Dowbyhuz
Howllo Fellow Hound and art lovers:
Over the past month I have been receiving updates on an artist’s portrait of a basset named Phoebe. It has been so interesting, so I thought I would share. Here are the first three e-mail attachments I received.

Here is a portion of the final e-mail from the artist,
David Dowbyhuz presenting the Phoebe finale:
“This is the final email on the progress of Phoebe’s portrait. She’s all done, but for some finishing glazes, the subtlety of which won’t really translate digitally. Father Pat, above, is also the breeder from whence Phoebe came; http://www.deanerybassethounds.com/. Her registered name is DEANERY’S MERMAID, coming from the oft times stormy coasts, but always beautiful landscape, of Newfoundland up here in Canada. This name is most appropriate, as Father Pat points out, her having been born so close to the North Atlantic!
Without further ado (no time for “ado” today) I present to you Deanery’s Mermaid, the beauteous Phoebe”
the end result!
Great Job David! More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
Phoebe is gorgeous, the portrait is gorgeous, and those Deanery bassets are gorgeous! I love seeing Dave’s paintings in progress. I think it’s so fascinating, and he is one talented painter!!!
I agree Mary and Scully. He has started another basset painting called Maw and Paw. He is starting Maw first. I will be keeping all of the attachments and showing the finished result when David’s work is complete. I just love it. Cat, Chaps and Emma
