OH NO! The Mayor has a health problem this morning!
PICTURES, BUT NOT TOO GRAPHIC
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not wanting the Mayor to be hurting lovers: The only reason I am able to do this blog right now is because my vet is not able to see Chaps until 11:00 this morning.
Chaps woke up this morning with a huge, golf ball sized cyst on his tail that is getting ready to pop. He must have been chewing on it all night. It is really angry and inflammed.
The actual cyst is under all of that fur and it looks so painful.
You can see a little bit a blood but this is really nothing how it looks underneath. Chaps is lightly crying.
Oh, I feel so sorry for my big boy. I felt the cyst on the day I picked up Chaps. I know every lump, bump, and hair out of place on both of their bodies. I always check it to see if it gets bigger and it has been the same, about the size of a grape. As a matter of fact, I thought I felt it last night. Regardless, during the night it became a problem for him. It probably started causing him pain and then that led to the chewing.
You guys know me. I am going to worry like crazy. Well, I better go now and get him ready. I am going to be early and just sit in the car. After we get Chaps loaded I am going to come back in and feed Emmers. She is being so good.
More tail updates later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Oh, no! Poor Chaps!! Sending along some drool for him and no-worry drool for you too! Update us later, please–we worry too:)

Poor Chaps!!!
That looks like that hurts buddy! Mommy will make sure you get taken of.
Cat, please let us know how the Mayor makes out..poor fella.
Poor Chaps!
We are praying that the doctor will make it all better fast.
Cat, hang in there!
Poor Chaps! Let us know what the vet says. I think there are some french fries in his future. Anything to make The Mayor feel better.
I think it will be fine, but it may hurt him or be uncomfortable for awhile.
I am even more horrified that the vet made you wait!!!

Wow. Poor Chaps! We’re sending buckets of slobber sickles his way. Or is that drool? Anyway, please update us cuz we’ll worry till we hear back from you. I’m sure Chaps will be just fine though. He knows his Mommy will take care of him.
Oh no. Poor Chase let us know asap what the vetman says.aps. Ple
Oh,no Cat…..Now I’m going to worry like crazy too, tell you update us. I took Colby in Tuesday for a lump that I found beside one of his breast. It wasn’t bothering him, but it had me worried. They did a biospy of it and said it was just a benign tumor ….like a ‘fatty tumor’. I was so relieved. I hope that is all Chaps’ is. Please let us know — I hate when our babies are in any pain.
Oh no…poor guy! Sending buckets of healing drool.
Poor Chaps! The Mayor has more than enough to do without having this too!
Lois – That was one of the funniest comments I have read anywhere. Schlepp Boys. Royal Tail. I’m still laughing. Thanks for the smile.
thanky you!
“schlepp boys”: official definition:
you know the tall ancient egyptian guys who were charged with carrying the pharoh and other royalty around…tall guys in the skirty outfits and pointy hats…thems were “schlepp boys…no dainty royal feet or paws shall touch the ground…or tails.
in a sentence….
“emma…want to go get us some french fries? lets get the schlepp boys up and moving!”
OK Mayor…our vocabulary is growing while we’re waiting for your update. Hope all is going well.
