I have a Buttermilk update!

July 20th, 2009 - 3:03 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Buttermilk lovers who love updates! Currently Buttermilk is with BHRG being fostered by Rosemary Glennie. Rosemary is taking such good care of this old girl and Buttermilk is making great strides under her protective wing. Rosemary states,

“Buttermilk spent a quiet Saturday night – she ate, took her meds, and then settled in. She has a very good appetite – loved the wet food, but went slowly on the dry kibble (spoiled already). I took her out on leash later Saturday night for one last potty break. She did not wet in her crate (what a good girl, because she drank a lot of water).

Sunday morning, my dogs were barking up a storm, and she never woke up. I checked on her with held breath to make sure she was ok – she was <whew>. She went outside to potty, and then I gave her meds for the a.m.

One of our volunteers and his daughter came to pick her (and another) up for a ride to the kennel.

At this moment, she is at the vets being checked out. I didn’t hear any coughing or see any snotty nose, so hopefully she will get the health certificate on Friday. I’ve included a couple pictures of her rear end – was told it was flea dermatitis (and that’s what is looks like). Hopefully with fleas gone, her hair will grow back in.

She’s a really nice girl. It’s wonderful that four states came together to save her. Shows we can do anything if we work together. BHRG will donate the money for her expenses while she is in the great state of Georgia!

Cat – I sent a COPY of all her records to the vet. I have the originals along with her collar/leash/rabies and microchip tags. I was afraid the kennel/vet would misplace. All will be in an envelope with her name and picture in the BUV Saturday morning.

Will email in a day or two with her progress at the vets.

Rosemary”

Wow, Thanks Rosemary for the update and also for paying for her care while in GA. That is just super! We love you for that.

BASSET HOUND RESCUE OF GEORGIA ROCKS!

Rosemary said that she would send more updates soon…….

More good news later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Poor thing! Can you imagine having fleas so bad that hair starts falling out? How miserable. I’ll bet she feels 500 percent better just being clean. I wonder why she didn’t wake up with the other dogs barking? Could she be deaf? Or maybe she was just comfortable and snoozing huh?

Cindy – Rosemary thinks she could be deaf. I am looking forward to checking her out in that regard.

Oh good Cat. I’m glad your going to check that out. If she’s got a handicap like that it needs to be known. She won’t be able to hear cars and things that may put her in danger.
