Did you know that the Mayor is a seeing eye dog?
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mayors being seeing eye dog lovers! Well, it is true and I really saw him in action this week while we were watching my sister’s dogs. It was really interesting.
Emma is such an adventurous hound but got caught in some unsual positions this week. I witnessed such caring from Chaps. He would run to her side to aid her if she was pressed against a wall or chair from my sisters dogs. I did not have my camera at the ready, and really the moments were just to quick to capture but they were amazing. Chaps would run to her and almost push her out of precarious situations. OK they were situations he thought were precarious. One time, she was behind a chair that Enzo had her cornered in and Chaps rushed in to show her the way out. I was getting ready to do just that, but he beat me to it.
He is so fantastic. I have to show a picture of him in the early days of Emma being blind. I have shown it before, but I will show it again. She was almost ready to run into a chair and he rubbed up against her and wrapped his tail around her and made sure she did not run into the chair. Believe me, she did not hit the chair.
It was little stuff like this that happened all week long that I did not capture. He was right by her side, worried. That is just him. He is a worry wart like me. Emma had a great time but really appreciated his help and guidance.
More guiding the loves of you life later………Love, Cat, Chaps and Emam
They are amazing. You cannot tell me that dogs don’t have feelings or don’t care. Emma is so lucky to have Chaps. And Chaps is lucky to have Emma!
Mr. Mayor you have such a tender heart.
My Dad says that he has a delicate soul.
Cat
This shows how much the Mayor care for his staff and constituents.
