The bonded pair have names
Howllo Fellow Hound and Old Hound Lovers: I am sure many of you already know most of this from other boards but the Sr. Bonded pair my Mom and I picked up from the Campbell County Animal Shelter have names. Marilyn from the HOP has named them Rudolph and Hermey. (The misfit elf) Pictures coming very soon, I just have to load them.
I have to congratulate Chris Dowd for her wonderful spirit. Chris e-mailed me minutes after I posted the previous blog about helping these kids. Here is her e-mail.
Message from Chris:
Hi Cathy!
I read your blog about the 2 seniors in the
Campbell Shelter. I
emailed Susan at Bluegrass to let her know I will
help out with the
boarding/vet bills if we can find a place for
these guys. I am in
tears that they would be rescued from an abusive
situation only to
face the death penalty.
Please let me know what more I can do to help.
Chris
End of e-mail
This e-mail bought the Sr. Boys more time and they were sprung the next day. Chris, I cannot thank you enough for that e-mail. My eyes were burning so hot I could hardly read it. You touched so many souls. These boys are now on an unbelievable journey due to your kindness and hasty decision making.
We have started a request for drivers, hopefully to start on 12-8-07, but we are still in the beginning stages. Please help us if you are in the path from Northern KY to Fredricksburg Maryland, ending at the HOP.
I am waiting for the route and will post it ASAP. Please consider driving to a town we are coming through to pick up the boys for the next leg.
These boys need Marilyn really bad. She has to start the magic she works right away.
Unfortunately, I had some Holiday plans last night and today which is severely hampering my blogging performance and it is killing me.
I also want to go up to the vet and see the boys today so that will take a bit of time and it is an extra treat for all of us.
I have some video of the boys and also some more pictures that I hope to work on during the day.
Please check back often because I will be updating often.
I will tell the boys to hang in there a few more days until us humans get their ride in place.
Please contact anyone and everyone you know that could potentially help up. These boys deserve it.
More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
Thank you all so much for your effort to save the two senior bassets!!! Thanks to you, these dogs will know safety and happiness at least once in their lives.
To say “Thank You” seems so inadequate, but the emotion is heart-felt and genuine. (While watching the video, I found myself running the cursor over and over the photos and realized, I was sending cyber-pets to Rudolph and Hermey!! They really do grab one’s heart!)
These boys remind me of my own senior rescue, Samuel, who went to the Bridge in 2003, at the ripe old age of 15 (after 6 1/2 too-short years with us). How wonderful that you were able to save these furbabies and assist them in getting to their forever-home at the House of Puddles. May God bless you all for having such caring hearts and willing hands!! From the bottom of my own heart, thank you.
