Back in 1973 Bev Erschell painted my picture…..
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and having your picture painted back in 1973 lovers…
Bev Erschell is an artist who was the Mom of one of my then friends. She was and is very cool. Her and I are friends to this day. Speaking of this day, I received a picture in the mail from her today. Oh, how I love to open the mail box and get treasures like this. Bev wrote me a sweet and dear note about how she had found this picture. It is of me with their sweet daschund, Brunhilda, AKA brunnie……
Is this another path to my love of long dogs?
Just look at me holding my hand on her belly. I was enthralled with Brunnie! Bev was in the process of taking pictures of me to paint. Bev Erschell is an artist and I did not know at the time how wonderful it was that she was doing my portrait. A gift I cherish to this day.
She finally got me to let down Brunhilda and got this shot to work from…..
You can kind of see the hand painting on the dress. I bought it from a hippy shop in Cincinnati and Bev loved it and me…..
Much later, about 10 years ago, my best friend Janie asked Bev to do something very special for me, a water color of Chloe and Lily.
It is the single most cherished possession that I own. My girls hang across from my portrait in the living room.
We will look at each other forever….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Thank you Bev and Janie. The memories are so beautiful……..
Beautiful, both of them!
Wow, something to cherish that’s for sure. You are so lucky to have a friend with such talent.
Just beautiful.
