House of Puddles has been selected to participate in Rachel Ray’s Mutt Madness contest for cash awards as much as $50,000! There will be 6 rounds of voting to eliminate candidates-the 1st round starts with 32 pairs of rescues to vote for.
It takes a little time but the rewards are great. Please cast your votes and vote for HOP!

HOP has been selected to participate in Rachael Ray’s Mutt Madness contest for cash awards of $50,000 for first place and $25,000 for second place. There will be 6 rounds of voting to eliminate candidates-the 1st round started this week with 32 pairs of rescues to vote for. HOP is on the left-hand side, 11 down from the top. Please register on Rachael’s site and vote for HOP! It takes a few minutes – you have to register, then vote for one rescue in each bracket on both sides of the page…but it’s 5 minutes well spent. Log on and vote for HOP!
Then check back every week for the next round to see if HOP is still in the race. Each time we go through to the next round, we win $1,000! So even if we don’t win one of the big prizes, we can still earn several $K. Round 2 starts 10/19. Only YOU can help us!

I voted yesterday! I’m sure you can still vote today for this week. it’s worth it to go in there and try! I had a hard time because it wouldn’t take my login even though I was registered and logged in several times. When I got home from work I realized I was logged in at home too and the “submit votes” had popped up at home so maybe it was my fault and I had myself locked out. And I flooded poor Marilyn with e-mails because I was so frustrated! Sorry Marilyn! She was a trooper and I finally got my vote counted. I hope HOP wins!!! Everybody, try today and see if you can vote! If not, and HOP makes it to next week try next week. This will be MAJOR help for HOP.

Hey Cindy – you were not the only one e-mailing Marilyn. Actually, a lot of folks were having trouble and Rachel Ray may extend voting for this week because of it. I wanted to wait and post this after I could actually vote. Wow, it is quite the process indeed. I found it very interesting reading about all of the groups that were selected. I think, just by being selected that HOP gets 1000 dollars. I think I read that right. This is so cool! I am very excited.

I was reading about all the groups too and it was interesting. Then I was sniffing around and reading more about the contest and found out that to qualify you had to be a no kill shelter. I didn’t realize that! I didn’t vote for any of the SPCA’s cuz I didn’t think they were no kill. The one’s in our area aren’t but we are just so inundated with animals that we really can’t be. I’m so glad that Marilyn was chosen to be in this contest! I’m sure it required some hard work on her part. I think this is so very generous of Rachel Ray. We need more people out there helping animals that’s for sure!
I love that RR is doing this. She really loves animals. I also read that Kathy Griffin and Howard Stern’s wife helped her pick the groups that were chosen. Did you see that? It was on her blog I think.

I voted yesterday and didn’t have any problems.
It took me a while because I had to consult with Belle and Bailey to make sure I was voting for the proper organizations. Of course we voted for HOP!!!
Cat, I glanced through a lot of it and read those names but don’t recall what part they played. Ha! Now I know! Maybe this will catch on and more celebrities will help animals. A lot more are involved now than used to be.

Maureen, after you vote on every button then you have to click on the submit button at the bottom. Then it will give you a confirmation screen. If you didn’t get the confirmation screen then your vote wasn’t counted.
