Emma showcases her rescue pick for the week!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and loving Emma’s pick lovers. Our Emmers has sniffed around the internet to showcase a basset she felt a connection with and here is Lucy of Las Vegas Basset Hound Rescue.

“Lucy Magoo: Blind dogs see with their hearts–and blind Bassets can see with their noses, too! Lucy recently lost her sight to glaucoma. Hopefully you can still see the beauty and intelligence in the face of this special 9 yr. old girl. Lucy is extremely attentive and adapts easily to new surroundings. Blind dogs are very easy to care for and even easier to love. How could you not feel proud to have this brave and sensitive soul in your life? She’s welcoming to people and other animals, loves everyone. Enjoys regular dog park outings and walks. Small in size but huge in heart, Lucy will give her new family more joy and satisfaction than they can possibly imagine. Please consider Lucy and submit an application.     We voted for Lucy when she was on the Daily Drool this last week. We thought of Emma when we saw her. Lucy has such a beautiful face, my heart hopes she gets a furever home with this win:)

    Hey Wanda! We found Lucy from Maureen sending us the link to the voting. I was taken by her smile! If I could I would open a rescue just for blind bassets. OMG – Emma is the best girl ever and she is amazingly smart. I kiss her face so much she smells like Carmex, the lip balm. hehehe

    I hit the button too soon! I voted for Lucy as well and send the link to other furiends to solicit their vote, too–I was delighted that she won! Her face and smile got right to my heart, it did…I wish I could just scoop her up!

    Awww Lucy is an absolutely adorable Basset.

    We rescued a big Basset boy a few years ago and he had Glaucoma and when he first went blind it just broke our hearts but our other two Bassets looked after him as they seemed to know he couldn’t see.

    He still loved to come out walking and sniffing out the rabbits because as you say, blind Bassets can see with their noses.
