The Mayor!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mayor Lovers……

He has been awake and glued by my side all day which is somewhat odd. Of course, we all know why. When I was looking thru pics a few days ago I ran across this one of our Mayor. I just thought he looked so majestic.

He worries so much.

Today, Grandma was loving on him and I heard her tell him that he was now the center of our world. It used to be Grandpa Wayne and Chaps Wayne. Now it is just Chaps Wayne. She told him, “the girls just rotate around the men”! LOL, I had to laugh. It was really nice…

More loving laughing later…Cat, Chaps and Emma

Hi sweetheart … it is amazing how much animals know and how much comfort they bring. Chaps and Emma are sweet givers of comfort and love to you and your mom. I’m so glad the Mayor has been on the job today.

We are keeping you close in our hearts.

Cat….you & Grandma have been in my thoughts and prayers today! Let Chaps & Emma bring you comfort during this time. They feel your pain, & love you so much, it’s amazing how much comfort they bring…….remember this…..

    The Basset Hound Effect

We quietly long for their big brown eyes
to us, they seem very caring and wise

We need to touch their soothing long ears
Quite often they have comforted us in our tears

We are addicted to rubbing the upturned tummy
Without it, life would be so very crummy

We eagerly await their next entertaining antic
For our laughter, we get a gracious and generous lick

We can’t forget their ingenious quest for food
Although, we’re always trying to adjust that attitude

But, we know we’re not crazy or have a defect
We are only experiencing the BASSET HOUND EFFECT!

Chaps is such a handsome, strong, sweet guy. I wouldn’t mind him being by my side all the time that’s for sure!

    Love You,

What would we do without our Hounds? What love and comfort they bring.
You and your Mom are in our thoughts and prayers. Give Chaps and Emmers a bellyrub for us. A bellyrub makes everyone feel better, the recipient and the giver.
    Big HUGS,

Cat- you know how I feel. But, I bet the Mayor was surprised to learn that just NOW he is the center of the universe 🙂

I have come to learn that feeling of unconditional love the hounds bestow up us. They know when we are in pain be it physical or emotional. You can see how much they care just in the eyes. “Eyes are the windows to ones heart and soul”. You and your Mom have been in my thoughts and prayers. Know there are many praying for you and the family. Chaps and Emma should get double does of fries or tots.
Hugs from the humans and sloppy kisses from the hounds.
    God be with you,
    Wanda

Our hounds know what we need better than we do . Whenever I have experienced loss or despair or grief, they always know to lay a loving paw or muzzle on hand or foot. Healing hound touch. There is wisdom in those wrinkles.

This picture reminds me of Rodin’s “Thinker” statue. You can tell that Chaps is deep in thought–probably evaluating various solutions to a problem.

Regal he is! Our hounds are such a comfort to us in difficult times; continue to keep you all in thoughts and prayers. Continued love, slurps and heart healing drool to you and yours.

Thank you guys so much. I fear that Chaps and Emma might mildew from the tears but I would say half are happy tears. They are such great listeners. They just lay by my side and listen for hours.

Again, thank you everyone for your support. I really have gained a lot of strength from your words.

    Love Cat
