I have decided to give up rescuing basset hounds:(

April 1st, 2010 - 12:12 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hounds and hearing my sad news and those of you who are not fond of this news lovers.

It is just too hard and there just does not seem to be that many basset hounds that need my help. I have so many other things I want to do with my life and I feel it is time to start on a new path. I have been thinking about taking up spelunking. Mammoth cave is not so far away and it should be fun hanging out in this wonderful cave system. I loved it back in the 70s. Here is a picture of me on the wild cave tour.

That is me next to the sign on the right! I want to get back to my roots! You can see my older sister, Nin, to the right of me in the striped sweater.

Dogs are not allowed in most of this beautiful national park so Chaps and Emma will spend the majority of their life in a nice kennel I have found. They should be fine. I just need some time to myself in the tranquility of a cave.

I might start to research blind cave fish.

Ok, I was shocked and starting to believe it until I read this sentence…

“Dogs are not allowed in most of this beautiful national park so Chaps and Emma will spend the majority of their life in a nice kennel I have found.”

Then I laughed outloud! I knew it was a joke then! Happy fools day to you too!

I guess I was surprised by the title then getting to the caves part I said “April Fools”. Knowing your heart and parents from what you’ve said I knew ya couldn’t go cold turkey:)
We hound slaves can smell another a mile away.
Have a Super Super Easter everyone:)

Gasp! SHOCK/HORROR! I didn’t believe it when I read this; besides, with Chaps’ past public service he could be Mayor anywhere even Governor, and I know he would count on Emma being right beside him, and I know your mother would not tolerate Chaps or Emma being sent to a kennel so you could find yourself!

I’m with ya, Cat! In fact, I think I will give up saving senior basset hounds and rescue senior blind cave fish instead. The name House of Puddles will still work because fish like puddles, right?

Oh howl could I? Of course they would be homeless! hehehehe

Instead of a waddle we can have a swim-a-thon! Better start looking for that tankini!

Oh my – I thought the world was ending until I saw Chaps and Emma would be living in a kennel – I know that would NEVER happen!! I was believing it at first but blind cave fish were a little hard to believe!

    Cat,
Honestly I knew you were foolin’ right away.

I am home from substitute teaching at the High School and on the morning announcements they told the whole school that they had to go to school tomorrow. It is a day off for Easter. They all believed it because Monday was supposed to be a day off too, but they have to make up a snow day ( They don’t ever allow for snow days in Texas!) Anyway they were all moaning and groaning before the announcement came that it was an April Fools joke. I thought it was pretty good since it was so easy to believe they had to make up another day. ( Well they do, but it was tacked on to the end of the year)

I am glad you were just fooling, and Marilyn – Homeless blind cave fish? What a laugh that would be. You need to stick to Bassets. They are so much more cuddly and smooshy than a fish.
