Howllow fellow basset hound and wondering what Grandma is doing lovers…I am such a lucky hound to have my Grandma living right upstairs.  She has so much love to give me.  I have so much love to give her.  My favorite thing is watching her make breakfast…hehehe

Howllow Fellow basset hound and turning a year older lovers…I am so astonished that it has been 9 years since we picked up Daisy from the Delta Cargo station.  9 years…These years oh these years.  Oh universe please let me slow down and keep the forward movement still if only for just a few circles around the sun.

Wait… my Iwatch is telling me to breath.  Maybe it’s a sign from the universe…slow down for a minute at best!

Or maybe it is a sign from Daisy – take time to hunt the Lizards…

I am making a vow to slow down and celebrate Daisy’s 9th year with focus.  I want to concentrate more on Daisy!  hahaha – that made me laugh.

Happy Birthday Daisy – it’s time for your 9th trip around the sun…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and best dog lovers…

“Every dog I have ever had is the best dog I have ever had”.  It finally hit me…That this statement is the most truthful I can be regarding the dogs in my life.  I hear people talk about their “heart dog” and it makes me wonder…can you have a favorite dog?  What does heart dog mean?  I think that our hearts keep getting fuller with all of the dogs that we have loved and have loved us.  I just cannot get over the different journeys we take with our different dogs at different times in our blessed lives.  I have had basset hounds for over 30 years now.  Wow – over 30 years!  Time sure flies.  I can look back now and remember each one as if they are still with me and I know they are.  They were all my heart dogs.  Each one different in manner and “tude”.  Some much more “tudie” than others…lol –

So, as time marches on and hounds fill our hearts I rejoice that I have had 5 heart dogs and the 6th one is still with me on our journey.

Time has never been more well spent than in the orbit of love…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and slowing down the time lovers.  I guess we can’t do that.  Whatcha all been doing lately?  Lots has happened in ole basset hound town over the past several months.  Not anything earth shattering just everyday stuff.

I got a new mattress in a box…lol  The crowd roars…hehehe

Daisy thought it was a dog bed, and actually I guess it is!

So happy not to have to go to a mattress store…Disrupting this market was a great move.  And…only 150.00 dollars!!!

Grandma and I are still being extremely cautious regarding Covid.  Our health is something we don’t want disrupted.  We have so many spring cleaning tasks that we could be home for anther 2 years and not get them all done.

Daisy says, “blah, blah, blah, quit disrupting me – who cares just take a nap with me and get to your tasks later…”

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and dog food lovers…

Well, feeding Daisy Lynn has always been a struggle due to her multiple allergies.  Grandma and I did everything we could to give her relief.  I found a dog food that gave her relief but she did not like it.  It was such a struggle to get her to eat everyday.  I felt so sorry for her.

So, I set out trying each ingredient one by one trying to find the right combination that would not cause her toe cysts and her massive itching.

Scrambled Eggs, (no butter or milk just liquid eggs) – check

But first I started with hamburger.  I bought the same hamburger that I buy for us.  92% fat free Laura’s Lean.  I cook that up, drain the fat then rinse the crumbles and add to the bowl. I crumple 3 probiotics for dogs over the hamburger and stir that up.

She did great and no cysts – itching still remained.

Then I added all the veggies just to see if that set her toes off…

Peas
Butternut Squash
Sweet Potatoes
Blue Berries
Drizzle of Olive Oil

Wow – still no cysts. This picture is just for reference.  If I give her one tiny piece of cheese or a tiny piece of chicken she gets these nasty “meanies” (what Grandma calls them).

They pop up pretty rapidly if she is allergic to a food source so that is the good news.  I could move pretty quickly through my food experiment.

The problem is there is nothing really hard and crunchy in the mixture.  Going to all of this hoopla for her food I don’t want to add dog kibble into it.  So I am still researching something to add that is healthy, hard, and crunchy.  It would also stretch the volume out and make the food last longer.  For the love of DOG I think she could eat the whole bowl in a few sittings.  She is now eating me out of house and home!!!

I talked to her chiropractor and he said that dogs do not need carbs.  He did say I might want to give her a dog multivitamin.  So, I am looking into that.  BTW, her bones are in really good shape.  He did agree with me that she is gaining weight so to cut her back. (Good Luck with that)

Daisy loves this food so much (as you can expect) that she wants to eat about 4 times a day.

She goes absolutely wild for this mixture…She screams and barks and jumps and dances until I cave in.

But this is hysterical…

She always leaves one or two protest green beans.

She is so funny.  I cannot believe it took me 8 years to figure this out.  The itching still remains but that could be dust mites.  I did buy a fuller brush sweeper to try to control them better.  I will try that today.  It is really cute!

OK, that is all for now.  I have been ignoring my blogging again. I miss it.

Howllow all of our residents and fellow basset hound lovers.  Here we are, Christmas Day.  Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I decided that we would start Christmas early this year.  We started with Christmas in July buying gifts and planning our mailings.  This was all in an effort to get ahead of the game.  Well, it didn’t work.  We were just as rushed down to the last minute as we always were.  Isn’t that interesting?  It was for me at least.

Wanna see my Christmas Card?  I did not mail any out this year (I only had since July to get that all squared away;)…but maybe next year!  hahaha

Ahhhhh…so cute!

I hope that everyone is having a great day if you are celebrating this howl low day.  It is freezing cold in #bassethoundtown with a low today of 13 degrees.

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and Belly Rubbing Station Lovers…

I was working so hard and diligent at my desk this week plowing away at the grind.  I heard some snorting from my co-worker and town Mayor and looked over to this…

All I had to do was roll myself over to the belly rubbing station and begin my second job.  This is what I can efficient!  Boy o boy it really does help the stress level that we as a planet are dealing with and let me add…It’s not an efficient way in the least.

Oh well…I better roll back over to my desk.  My 15 minute break is up!

I am doing this blog post for anyone who googles this international scammer out of what we believe to be Panama.  They claim they are in Ft. Meyers, FL but that is a lie.

Howllow my fellow basset hound and scratching my head lovers…Drive through any town USA in the month of October and you have the scary yard displays…Yes, I mean the political signs!!!  I have hated those GAWD DANG things since I was a little kid.  Come on people, this is for the kids and Halloween, we don’t need to know that you are anti pro choice or pro choice, we don’t need to know what religion you are, I DON’T GIVE A FLYING TRUCK ABOUT WHO YOU ARE VOTING FOR!!!  OK, I said it.  These signs are scarier than Michael Myers staring out of the window at you.

Signs look like junk election mail sitting in your yard, and by the way – WHO CARES WHO YOU ARE VOTING FOR?  Do they think I am going to peer into their yard, see what wingnut they are voting for and run into my home and vote for that person because of their sign?  What is the purpose of political signs?  I don’t get it and I never did.  Frankly, I think it is embarrassing.  I wonder who their Mom’s are?  Did they not learn it is not polite to talk about politics or religion in nice company?  Oh yeah, I forgot we live with facebook and that load of malarkey.

Hey sign people – let the kids have Halloween and not be crushed by stupid political signs.  Being a kid is hard enough to deal with only to be labeled by signs at such a young age.  Let them have their candy and you sign people just go vote and don’t leave such a sour taste in the neighborhoods mouth.  Go suck on a tootsie roll pop.
