Our school visits are absolutely bassetabulous! The children love meeting Chaps and can't wait to hear about the Lily Book. When Chaps enters the class room it is similar to Bon Jovi coming on stage! He is a big star!

The first thing we do when visiting a class room is talk about dog safety. We have a 4 point safety session that lasts several minutes. At the end of the reading the childern can pet Chaps and put their safety lesson into action!

I love to visit schools and encourage children of all ages to read. I also enjoy visiting older students in an effort to educate them on the process of writing, designing, and publishing a book.

If approved by the school, I will bring my retired Champion, 80 pound Basset Hound, CH BoBac Ralph Lauren of Birnam "Chaps", to assist me with my presentation. He quickly becomes the "Teacher's Pet"!
As stated above, he is a huge part of the Dog Safety presentation. Any children that are frightened of dogs can stick in the back. If a child is allergic to Dogs they can stick in the back as well.

Students, teachers and Librarians absolutely love this feature. I encourage the students to bring a camera, (disposable works good) so they can get their picture taken with Chaps, the Basset Hound. It is a nice thing to slip inside the Lily book for a future keepsake.

If your school sells 20 books or more, I will donate $5 per book back to the school in honor of Lily. I will also donate a signed Lily Book to the school's Library and an extra copy for your school's fundraising event, valued at 20.00 dollars. This is a great way for schools to make a profit. I feel very strongly in giving back to our communities.

If you do book us, I will send your free Library copy ahead of time. Please read the Lily book to the children prior to our visit. This is a wonderful way for the students and I to interact before, during and after I read or talk about the Lily book.

If I am speaking to older students, please have each one review the book so they can ask questions regarding the art work, the process, or how to publish.
